Wildflower Trip: Shenk's Ferry Wildflower Preserve
Tue, May 1, 2012, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Join Richard Brenner and Jado Foot for a visit to one of the best natural wildflower preserves in the country during its peak bloom. We expect to see spectacular masses of white trillium and view large numbers of both the white and yellow forms of trout lily. Many other spring ephemerals including Dutchman's breeches, squirrel corn, bleeding heart, hepatica, rue anemone and bloodroot should abound. Jado will help us spot the avian inhabitants. On the way back we will stop for an ice cream splurge. Bring a bag lunch. Beverages, snacks and transportation will be provided.
Pre-registration required; $55 members, $65 non-members
