Botany of Beer: The Second Pint
Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College
Sat, Jul 28, 2012, 3pm - 6pm
Tickets: 30 to 40
Join Dan Shaw, Certified Cicerone® and manager of Pinocchio’s Beer Garden To Go, and Julie Jenney, educational programs coordinator for an afternoon of tasting, learning, and talking about beer. If you attended last summer’s class we’ll have some great new beer knowledge to share and of course a fresh line-up of brews to taste. This class will cover the brewing process and the botanical components of beer: plants from the grass family such as wheat and barley but also the fruits, spices and, of course, hops! In-depth descriptions of each beer will guide you through tasting them. Cost includes beer and hearty, delicious snacks to accompany the top-notch selection of beer. Limited to 34.
