Ecological Gardening

This course is an introduction to ecological gardening, which is an approach to designing and managing gardens that enhances people, land, and community through the sustainable use of natural resources, conservation of biological diversity, and cultivation of plants that provide nourishment for optimal physical and spiritual health. Participants will learn the fundamentals of ecology that support ecological gardening practice. Examples of ecological gardening will be presented, and a design workshop where participants develop a blueprint for implementing their own ecological garden will put theory into practice.
