Appreciating Native Trees and Shrubs

Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania

Tickets: 30 members, $35 non-members

The ability to identify trees is an essential skill for professionals but can also be rewarding for amateur gardeners and tree lovers. Join tree enthusiast Ken LeRoy as he shares his knowledge of trees native to the Wissahickon Valley. You will learn a variety of trees including oaks, maples, magnolias, hickories and viburnums. You will examine the flowers, bark, leaves, and habit and learn to identify these plants by their common and Latin names. The class will be held outside in the Morris Arboretum's living collection. Please dress for the weather.
