At Home Series: Private Gardens of Liz and Ralph Schumacher

Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College

Fri, Sep 21, 2012, 10am - noon

Tickets: 20

The Schumacher garden in Gulph Mills was developed over forty-five years. It is a terraced garden known for its specimen plants, interesting ornaments skillfully placed throughout the garden, and especially for the resourceful and clever way the Schumacher’s have created an enchanting space on what was once just a very challenging barren hillside. Liz Schumacher is owner of Garden Accents of West Conshohocken, where she has assembled a collection of antique, hand-crafted, and original pieces for the garden. Please note there are steep inclines in this garden.

This trip was organized by Betsy Gullan. Betsy administered domestic and foreign trips for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society for 26 years. The Scott Arboretum is pleased to have her expertise in planning this trip. Limited to 25. Trips are a member-only benefit.

Member registration fee: $20.
