Chanticleer Staff Inducted into Temple University’s Gallery of Success

Chanticleer Staff Inducted into Temple University’s Gallery of Success
Wayne, PA – Temple University on October 15, 2010, inducted Chanticleer Horticulturist Jonathan Wright into the 2010-2011 Gallery of Success. The Gallery of Success is a collaborative effort between Temple University’s Career Services and the Office of Alumni Relations. The Gallery provides current students the opportunity to recognize Temple graduates who have achieved success in their chosen fields and distinguished themselves in their careers.
The induction took place at the Awards Luncheon, the opening event to Temple’s annual Homecoming and Parents’ Weekend. Annually, one graduate from each of Temple’s 17 schools and colleges is honored in the Gallery of Success, located in Mitten Hall at 3401 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA. The names of all former Gallery Recipients are permanently displayed in the showcase.
Jonathan Wright is a graduate of the Longwood Gardens Professional Gardener (PG) Program and received his B.S. from Temple University in 2006. Following the PG program, Jonathan delved deep into horticulture during an internship at Heronswood Nursery Ltd. in Kingston, Washington. He was later awarded the Chanticleer Fellowship, where he developed his knowledge of plants and cultivated leadership skills while working in the garden and through international travel. Jonathan is presently one of seven Horticulturists at Chanticleer, where he is responsible for the Teacup, the Entrance and the Tennis Court gardens.
Not only does Jonathan excite and astonish with his gardening techniques from year to year at Chanticleer, but he also teaches courses locally for Longwood Gardens, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, and the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania. He lectures widely outside of the region and has contributed to numerous conferences and exhibits. His career path serves as an inspiration to Temple students and others. The award is a great academic honor and a nod of recognition to Jonathan’s years of dedication, creativity and commitment.
